We started with a small Baby Blue Salad. It was delicious, next time we will go up to a medium. It was so good. I started with a Guinness she a glass of white zinfandel. We order a large Detroit style pizza with sausage and mushrooms. Baked to perfection. We finished with 2 cannoli and 2 coffees. We will go back again soon to try their other food and deserts. We highly recommend Joanie's Pizzeria. I shouldn't forget to mention that the service was also excellent. We are very glad to have found this place. It was a Sunday afternoon. It was half full. Not loud at all.

We ordered takeout from Joannie's because our friends and I had a taste for Detroit style pizza. Joannie's did not disappoint! The crust was thick and buttery and was everything we hoped it would be. We will definitely order again!

I was pleasantly surprised for this secret gem of a spot in Long Grove. Service was friendly. I have seen good reviews for the last few years, and just chalked it up to the locals having nothing better in their immediate area. But this place was in a charming location on the lake/pond (whatever it is). The pizza was good (tried the thin crust). Broasted chicken was also pretty good. There were many other things we did want to try from the menu, but didnt have the stomach capacity. Only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the pretzels and cheese appatizer. Small for the price and they were those premade pretzel balls you can buy at your local grocery store. Cannot wait to try the wings and chesse curds on our next visit :P

After watching the new Christmas movie starring Mario Lopez, which was filmed in Long Grove in April 2024, my husband and I decided to visit the charming town and were told by several locals that we had to eat at Joanie's Pizzeria. We're so glad we did--it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were treated to five-star service. The manager, Tina, and our server, Dawn, were absolutely amazing. Both took the time to chat with us about what brought us in, and when we shared our story, they enthusiastically shared their own experiences with Mario Lopez during his visit to the restaurant. They even showed us some photos and told sweet stories about his family. The food was beyond incredible! We tried the pizza and chicken--both are staples--and they were absolutely delicious. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere was the perfect touch, and they kindly seated us in a quiet corner as we requested. To make the experience even better, they surprised us with a complimentary Christmas drink that was absolutely delightful. Special mention to Chris, the busboy, who went above and beyond. He was attentive, brought us water, cleared plates promptly, and even took the time to chat with us. Such a hardworking, polite young man--it's so refreshing to meet someone like him, especially as he's still in high school! If you're visiting Long Grove, don't miss Joanie's Pizzeria. Fun pizzeria in the heart of Long Grove! I've been here a couple times and it has always been a solid spot. The restaurant is cute and cozy. I've only come during the winter, but there is an outdoor patio area so I'd like to come back when the weather is warmer. Overall, the food is pretty good. I came with a party of 8 and we ordered the stuffed mushrooms, Wisconsin cheese curds, and the large garden salad to start. The appetizers were just the right amount for our group. For our main, we ordered 2 XL Detroit pizzas (Village and Supreme), which were very delicious and well made. The XL is a generous size, we had tons of leftover slices. A few of us ordered festive cocktails but they were a little too sweet for our tastes. The service here is great! The staff is friendly and helpful. Our server made a little mistake with one of our pizzas but came up with a good solution so that we wouldn't have to wait too too long for the new pizza to come out. She was apologetic about her mistake too and didn't charge us for the extra pizza. Overall, I recommend this place as a great option in the area and I will definitely be back!

Joanie's is local institution and has been around for a while. It's a family friendly restaurant that serves a good variety of American cuisine that includes pizza, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, broasted chicken, etc. I have been here a couple of times and in those visits I have had good experience. The restaurant is located in historic downtown Long Grove. It's in a wonderful setting with nice view of the pond with a fountain overlooking their patio dining area. The restaurant is spacious and clean with nice modern yet rustic décor and aesthetics. The food is reasonably priced and the service was good. They are known for their pizzas and broasted chicken. On my recent visit, my party and I ordered a couple of different pizzas, salad, appetizers, and broasted chicken. For the appetizers, we ordered mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers. For salad, we order a large Caesar salad. For pizza, we order a large Detroit-style pizza with garlic and giardiniera and a medium hand tossed pizza with green peppers and onions. With asked for garlic flavor crust for the Detroit-style pizza and Cajun flavor for the hand tossed pizza. For the broasted chicken, I ordered their 4-pc. Chicken and a side of their house salad. We also ordered a couple of beers and a lasagna dish. All the food items came out promptly except for the lasagna which our server admitted that the kitchen forgot to make. Eventually, the lasagna arrived too and we were compensated on the final bill for our inconvenience. The pizzas were tasty. My favorite was the hand tossed which I have liked before as well. The Detroit-style pizza was decent, very cheesy (yum), but not as good as I thought it would be and I have had Detroit-style before (elsewhere) multiple times. I don't know what it was that made me think that the pizza was decent and not more than just decent. The broasted chicken was hot and fresh. They were big, tasty pieces. Our server provided good service. Our meal was good and filling. We had a good dinner outing. I definitely recommend checking out Joanie's if you haven't before. It's a wonderful restaurant with nice vibes.

The waitress Dawn was very nice and patient while we made our decisions The food was excellent I Talia. adding soup with oyster crackers . Stuffed mushrooms the best.
